3D Scanning

Fueling

The choice and positioning of fuel injectors can have a significant impact on the performance, efficiency and reliability of any engine. OEMs spent alot of time usually manufacturing injectors with specific details for their application.

When tuning for modifications, most tuners seem to only select based on flow rate. this determines how much fuel is delivered to the engine. The size and flow rate of the injectors is important and must be carefully chosen to match the engine’s fuel requirements, but the main often overlooked example in aftermarket injection systems is the position and firing angle of the injector.

The fuel must be delivered in a fine mist to ensure complete combustion, if fuel is washing down the floor of ports of the head or intake manifold, it can’t atomise with complete efficiency. We have a range of injectors available in multiple angle and flow configurations allowing us to select a unit that will give exactly what is required, be it OEM like efficiency or high RPM atomisation.

Finite Element Analysis

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used to simulate the structural behavior of components under different loads and stresses. This helps in designing lightweight and strong parts that can withstand the extreme forces experienced in motorsport and tuning. FEA enables engineers to optimize the performance and safety of any component designed.

Development

The first step in developing a new motorsport component is to identify a need or area for improvement. This could involve identifying a performance issue or weakness in an existing component, or finding a way to improve a specific aspect of the vehicle’s performance, such as weight reduction or aerodynamics.

Once the need has been identified, engineers and designers will work together to develop a prototype of the new component. This may involve using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create a virtual model of the component, followed by 3D printing or other prototyping methods to create a physical prototype for testing.

Testing is a critical part of the component development process. Engineers will use a variety of testing methods to evaluate the performance and durability of the new component, including laboratory testing, computer simulations, and real-world testing on the racetrack.

During testing, engineers will collect data on the performance of the component, including factors such as weight, strength, durability, and aerodynamics. This data is then used to refine and optimize the design, making adjustments as necessary to improve the component’s performance.

Supercharger Kits

Time honoured means of increasing horsepower. Typically a belt-driven compressor which forces more air into the combustion chamber by compressing it, resulting in a higher volume of fuel being burned and more power being generated. Whilst they can provide a significant boost in power, superchargers will also generate additional heat and put strain on the engine, which can lead to increased wear and tear over time.
